Short ride and a long day...

Tried to ride with our friends from Fat American Choppers, but only rode a few miles with them since the Clementine did not want to cooperate. Then once they caught up to us Josh's ride decide to go flat. Had a good time with great people regardless of the mechanical downfalls. Thanks Rob for the great pics and the transport van. Gonna try again this sunday to make it all the way to thier shop with a little luck.....

cb750 butt naked project

Just picked up a 1980 cb750 for bob and chop. The motor is pretty sound other the some cam chain adjustments. the carbs have already been jetted and the air box removed, a rough chop has been don to the ass end and the wiring is very roughly rigged up.

First things first we'll tear her all apart. I've already started tearing down the ass end, removing suspension, fenders, exhaust and covers. ended up with a pile of plastic that has no business being on a scooter.

For this bobber it think I'm going to go with a modification of the 70's "Kong" style frame in order to keep some shorty shocks on it yet still have the drop seat look. Should be fun, not quite as intense as an FNA build, but fun none the less.

Check your service manual for appropriate oil levels.

Clementine and The Bushing

The deadline is fast approaching with less than a month left before Daytona. The Exhaust, battery box, headlight and some loose ends have been finished up and the bike is ready for a teardown to begin the powdercoating/ painting process. I have missed my window to get chrome done, but that can come later. ...

My beautiful Wendy concentrating while machining the timing side bushing on her 68 Triumph 500. The Crankshaft took a little more cleaning up than the +.030 bushing would take, so we make a +.038 bushing that Wendy is roughing in.

My Scoot Project

With a lot of help from FNA custom cycles my scoot has come along way.
From struts and license plate mounting all the way the the tune up and carb work that got it running.

Next up is remounting the battery, rear fender, and sissy bar, putting on new handle bars and probably changing the license plate mount back to vertical.

Cable blues

Matt snapped the throttle cable on the bmw, as Kai explained everso calmly how to ride the bike home by pulling the handle with one hand and riding with the other, I went to a china atv store down the road and found a cable with the right ends and got it back on the road twisting not pulling.

xs in more ways than one

Getting a little done with each visit to the shop, just never feels like I can get enough done. The first week in march is fast approaching to meet my goal. Once you dive into a build like this it seems to consume your every thought until completion. Other bikes get worked on and more things get done, but your thoughts stay with the build at hand. The drive it gives you is incredible...
